The purpose of this study is to clarify the factors that cause aluminum reusable cups to be taken home and to derive requirements for measures to encourage users to return them. In recent years, waste reduction has been becoming active to realize a sustainable society, and the reusable cups in question is one such activity. Since they can be reused and horizontally recycled, they are expected to reduce waste by replacing disposable cups. Through participant observation, three points were derived: “designing encounters and partings”, “educating people about recycling awareness” and “building and communicating a story”.
