Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify one of the characteristics of the wall design about G. Th. Rietveld’s Schröder House. Focusing on the openings in the walls, we confirmed that “high-side lights” were used extensively, the results showed that the layout was closely related to the use of each room. Furthermore, confirmed the high-side lights on the first floor were configured as “orthogonal,” while the second floor were configured as “diagonal.”Although the intentions behind the installation of the high-side lights differed between the first and second floors, they were deployed as a common method throughout the Schröeder House.
