Practical report on online dance education and prospects for the development of teaching materials

Abstract

This paper is a practical report on designing an online dance lesson platform. In 2024, a Japanese professional dancer taught street dance to Chinese people who wanted to learn how to dance online. With the transformation of China’s education policy, the demand for dance education surges but faces issues like lack of instructor expertise or qualified instructors who don’t have the sufficient experience. On the other hand, In Japan, professional dancers often face employment problems due to their low social status.Through this online teaching practice, problems in both countries' dance education can be significantly improved. However, challenges still remain, and further researching on teaching materials and platform is crucial for helping resolve these issues.
