Abstract
This study explored the educational impact of kinetic typography (KT) production in a university design program. Over a six-week workshop, 22 students created Kanji-based KT works, which were then exhibited at a museum as part of a university–museum collaboration. Data were collected via student questionnaires, interviews, audience surveys, and work evaluations. Findings suggest that KT practice enhanced students’ time-based design skills and deepened their multifaceted understanding of characters. The museum exhibition positively influenced some students' motivation and was well received by visitors. This integrated approach is effective yet requires optimized student support and careful collaborative planning to maximize learning outcomes.
