Abstract
We believe that by comparing changes in space with changes in soundscape, we can create a more attractive space. Therefore, in this study, we focus on the soundscape and investigate the changes in sounds in the approach space to the shrine. The shrines surveyed were three located in mountain villages in the Hokuriku region. The three shrines are Chugukiganden and Maedateshadan of Oyama Shrine in Toyama Prefecture, and Tsurugi Shrine in Fukui Prefecture. The survey revealed that the soundscape of the approach to each shrine has its own characteristics. And we found a really quiet, amazing soundscape.
