Promotion of a recycling-oriented society through the production and installation of old clothes collection boxes made from local wood.

Abstract

This study developed and installed used clothing collection boxes made from thinned wood in the Mikawa region, and collected used clothing at retail outlets in Okazaki City. It was confirmed that clothing in good condition can be collected in a stable manner, and at the same time it was shown that the system can contribute to the effective utilisation of forest resources and regional revitalisation.

This initiative is expected to be a new model for both resource recycling and regional development.
