Abstract

This study proposes an interactive exhibition method to enhance the appeal of traditional artworks. The target work is Protectopus, a metal craft by Koya Furuta. Since the movable structure of Jizai-Okimono is hard to understand in conventional exhibitions, this method uses visual expressions that make the artwork appear to move, enabling intuitive understanding. In addition, the artist’s intentions and the work’s world are expressed through interactive effects. Results show that this method expands the artwork’s world and suggests its potential as a new exhibition method.
