This study explores a new design ideation method, Leap of Association Method developed to address limitations in existing techniques. An experiment with design students compared it to the checklist method through idea generation, self- and expert evaluations. While both methods showed similar usability, Leap of Association Method more frequently produced ideas perceived as novel. Although expert ratings showed limited statistical significance, participants tended to favor it for originality. These findings suggest its potential to enhance creativity, though further refinement and broader validation are needed.
