Abstract

In the sequential landscape, there are two kinds of time axes to uplift feeling. One is a long-term time axis such as historicalness or culture characteristics, and the other is short-term time axis that experiences the scene of walking distance. I researched the landscape characteristics including two time axes and the influence on the uplifting feeling in "Jo-chome area" where is the oldest area in Ebetsu city.
As a result of study, the findings are as follows. 1) The elements having a long-term time axis in the background such as "historic and cultural buildings" and "trees" are evaluated as "accent" in the sequential landscape. 2) The change of the ratio of natural resource in the section of 10m - 50m contributes to the elation improvement of the next scene as "rhythm" in the walking distance. By controlling the "accents" and "rhythms", we will can arrange the walking distance in the metropolitan suburbs attractively, and contribute to the value improvement of city-region.
