When expressing the image of design, onomatopoeias are used. Sometimes image sharing by onomatopoeia does not hold between designer and non-designer. The purpose of this research is to clarify the difference in images for onomatopoeias and the usage depending on design experience.
As a result of experiment 1, the thoughts of the subjects with design experience were clearer in comparison with the subjects without design experience. In the result of experiment 2, the onomatopoeias the subjects with design experience had used contained a greater variety than the subjects without design experience. We thought that people with design experience use various expressions through onomatopoeias for their presentations, so they would have a large vocabulary of onomatopoeia.
