Abstract

The deterioration of the traffic environment around the large-scale retail store becomes a problem because of increasing traffic demand. This study analyzed the traffic problem after the store opening especially by carrying out the continual follow-up survey for the store which faced the community road. According to our analysis, the traffic volume of coming in an hour greatly exceeded the predicted value. In addition, the traffic volume has increased in four years due to the increase of the surrounding population. However, the parking time coefficient per one car was much lower than the guideline value and predicted parking space was enough. In addition, it was clarified that the proportion of coming and going shop route were different on weekday and weekend. Moreover, the thing which passes through the community road which was not supposed in the prediction was continuously observed. Therefore, there is a problem for prior route setting and countermeasure based on it.
