Abstract

This paper proposes an assignment model of three subjects (Solo Driver (SD), Ridesharing Driver (RD) and Rider (R)) under the circumstances where the ride-sharing service is available. The proposed model seeks the spatio-temporal flows of three subjects so as to achieve system optimum condition. The ridesharing services requires riders to move with ridesharing drivers’ vehicle, and hence there is a possibility that riders may not be able to return home. In order to take into account such effects, we developed two models; i) ‘trip based model’ that assign users by trip, and ii) ‘activity based model’ that can take into account accommodates changes, and even cancellations, in the timing of the members of the three subjects. The proposed models are applied to a toy network. We firstly perform sensitivity analysis of parameters in the trip based model. We then conduct a comparative analysis of the trip based model and the activity based model.
