We have experienced 41 patients of cerebral infarction treated with rt-PA since December 2005. We summarized the process and the results of this treatment in all of the patients and estimated them. Averaged time taken from onset to start of rt-PA was measured 106 minutes. This treatment was so effective for improvement of the neurological symptoms 24 hours and 1 month later as well as 3 months later. Progressive stroke in 24 hours from onset dominantly caused re-embolus and thrombosis due to steno-occlusive lesions on the main trunks. Some immediate treatments after administration of rt-PA were considered to be necessary for prevention of progressive stroke. Effectiveness of this treatment was seen in any pathogenesis of cerebral stroke, not differently.
