Abstract
We report two patients who received early carotid artery stenting within 24 hours after intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke. Both patients showed early clinical deterioration after initial improvement from intravenous administration of tissue plasminogen activator. In case of cerebral ischemia due to main trunk artery stenosis, patients are at risk for recurrent stroke. In those patients, rapid diagnosis is required. Furthermore, a treatment strategy needs to be established after intravenous thrombolysis.
