Intracranial artery dissection is one of the leading causes of ischemic stroke in young people, of which middle cerebral artery dissection is relatively rare. We encountered two cases at our hospital involving two young men aged 29 and 42 years. Given the possibility of middle cerebral artery dissection as the cause of their ischemic stroke, we performed emergency intracranial stenting after their symptoms progressed despite medical treatment. Both patients experienced no perioperative complications and had modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores of 0 and 1 at discharge, respectively. Our findings suggest that intracranial stenting may be beneficial for patients with progressive ischemia-related intracranial artery dissection. This report details the patients’ progress after treatment.
