Abstract
The morphology of 11 cattle hearts showing double outlet right ventricle with intact ventricular septum was investigated. In 10 out of these 11 hearts the left ventricles were hypoplastic. Eight cases showed stenosis of the ascending aorta and 2 cases showed isthmal hypoplasia of aorta, while 1 case had no aortic stenosis. Patent foramen ovale were detected in 8 hearts, and patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects were detected in 2 hearts, whereas the other 1 heart had no interatrial communication. In 5 cases anomalous communications between the left ventricular cavity and the coronary artery were detected.
