The transposition of great arteries with subaortic ventricular septal defect (VSD) and subvalvular pulmonic stenosis was found in an 11-month-old female Holstein-Friesian heifer. They were examined clinically and pathologically. Cyanosis, dyspnea and fever were observed in the heifer at the first medical examination. A systolic murmur was heard in the pulmonary and the aortic areas. Biventricular hypertrophy with the enhancement of the left ventricular electrical force was suggested from the high voltage of QRS complex on the electrocardiogram and the left-ward orientation of QRS loop on the vectorcardiogram. Polycythemia was presented in blood examination. The post-mortem findings were as follows: Complete transposition of the great arteries with subaortic VSD, obstruction of opening 3.5×2.0 cm in size, subvalvular pulmonic stenosis 1.5 cm in diameter, right ventricular hypertrophy, and mild left ventricular hypertrophy in the heart. As complication, brain abscess was observed.
