A 66-year-old man was admitted with acute back pain and abdominal pain. Enhanced computed tomography (CT) showed acute type IIIb aortic dissection with obstruction of superior mesenteric artery (SMA), due to compression by the false lumen. Thoracic stent graft was placed to close the primary entry tear of the proximal site of the descending aorta to improve the perfusion for true lumen. Small intestine had examined with laparoscopy. Postoperative CT revealed that the true lumen of the descending aorta was dilated and the perfusion of SMA had improved. He returned home without any complications. This procedure may be an efficacious treatment in case of complicated acute aortic dissection.
