Abstract

Iatrogenic vascular injuries are uncommon during the course of proximal femur surgical procedures. We report two cases of injury of deep femoral artery after internal fixation for intertrochanteric femoral fracture. One case is pseudoaneurysm, the other case is pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula. Surgical procedure was the excision of the pseudoaneurysm and the closure of the arteriovenous fistula. We suspected that this injury was caused by stainless guide wire with misdrilling through the femur marrow during orthopedic surgical procedure.
