Abstract
The suitability of particle size distribution of river sediments for Rosin-Rammler equation, Gaudin-Schuhmann equation, Roller equation, normal distribution, log-normal distribution and square-root-normal distribution was studied.
The particle size distribution of river sediments was generally fitted to Rosin-Rammler equation, log-normal distribution and square-root-normal distribution, and Rosin-Rammler equation was most excellent among them. On the other hand, suitability for normal distribution, Gaudin-Schuhmann equation and Roller equation was poor.
Therefore it was recognized that particle size distribution could be calculated by using Rosin-Rammler equation in detail.
