Abstract

This paper consists of five sections under the tittles listed below :
1. Causes of foaming and examples in pulp and paper manufacturing process
2. Aspects of foaming and effects of external conditions on them
3. Apparent features of foams in different kinds of effluents
4. Defoaming agents and devices
5. Defoaming methods in each process
Some ideas and experiences to overcome the foam problems are described, which would be helpful for those suffering from them.
