Abstract
It has been past for 10 years since Nippon Paper Industries Co. Ltd.(Jujo Paper Co. Ltd. of those days) published “Enzymatic Pitch Controll” in 1989. During the period, the enzymatic pitch control was introduced to other paper mills. Initially this idea was only applied to Groundwood Pulp (GP). Today it was confirmed that lipase could be applied to Thermo Mechanical Pulp (TMP).
This paper summarizes basic concept of enzymatic pitch control and examples of mill trials with lipase (Resinase A 2 X) including successful result of pitch control for TMP.
