Abstract
The tangling angle is defined as the angle between filament axis in the tangling part of interlaced yarn and yarn axis. It is one of the structural factors which determine characteristics of interlaced yarns. However, filaments in the tangling parts display such complex configurations that the measurement of tangling angles by the traditional methods requires considerable time and labor. The present paper proposed a new simple method to determine the tangling angle from measurement of easily-quantifiable appearance characteristics of interlaced yarns in a short time and clarified the relation between tangling angle and interlacing process condition.
