Multiple Fractures Associated with Reduced Bone Density in a Young Dog

Abstract

A 2-year-old female miniature schnauzer was referred for left femoral fracture. This dog had a history of recurrent fractures. Radiographic examination revealed systemic osteopenia. Metabolic disease was ruled out on the basis of the results of several blood examinations, and histopathological examination of the bone biopsy samples suggested osteogenesis imperfecta.
