Abstract

A 9-year-old neutered male Munchkin cat presented to our clinic with lethargy and anorexia. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes. Cytology and immunocytochemical staining suggested large granular lymphocyte (LGL) lymphoma derived from cytotoxic T cells. Treatment with nimustine (ACNU) (25 mg/m2, intravenously, every 3 weeks) resulted in long-term complete remission over 807 days. The only adverse event associated with ACNU was grade 1 neutropenia. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of long-term survival of a cat treated with ACNU for more than 2 years.
