Parathyroid adenoma is a relatively rare disease in dogs. However, hypercalcemia caused by excessive secreted parathyroid hormone occurs as a paraneoplastic syndrome, and significantly lowers the patient’s quality of life Therefore, prompt diagnosis and treatment are required in this condition. In this communication, we report two canine parathyroid adenoma cases in Miniature Dachshunds, with one case showing delayed postoperative functional recovery of the parathyroid, and another case having multiple adenoma lesions.
