Abstract
Visualization method of supersonic jets using laser induced fluorescence (LIF) of iodine molecules excited by 514.5 nm of an argon ion laser is described. Intensities of the LIF in freejet flow fields when a laterally multi-mode laser is used for the excitation are simulated using the numerical results of the flow fields. By comparing with the observed LIF it is demonstrated that the flow velocity and the stream lines can be visualized.
