Abstract
In Part I of the paper, the adsorption time of DOP (di-2-ethyl-hexyl phthalate) on borosilicate glass was obtained by measuring the time lag in setting up the stationary flow of the vapor through evacuated glass tube.
In this paper, the adsorption time of DOP is more accurately measured again at 70 to 100°C on borosilicate glass by the similar improved method.
E and τ0 in the Frenkel's equation τ=τ0 exp (E/RT) (where τ is the adsorption time, E the activation energy of desorption, R the gas constant, T the absolute temperature and τ0 a constant), calcu-lated using the adsorption time, are obtained 21.4 kcal/mole and 5.9 × 10-14 serespectively. Under the consideration of the value τ0, the adsorption of DOP on borosilicate glass seems to be almost mobile.
