Abstract
The change of wind speed with the distance from a coastal line has been analyzed using the data measured at eight sites. These data were measured on both of a coastal area of Osaka-Bay and an island (Kansai International Airport) for a year. The result was that the wind speed changes within several hundred meters from a costal line. The wind energy on the coastal area, that is within 170 m from the coastal line, was 2.3 times as large as that of the land area that is 1km far from the coastal line. The Osaka area has been thought not to be a good place for the wind power generation, however, this analysis show s that the coastal area and the Osaka-Bay are good places for it.
