Abstract
Postheat treatment condition and mechanical properties of the laser repaired region of Ni-base single crystal superalloy CMSX-4 were investigated. It was reported that recrystallization could take place during solution heat treatment at highly strained parts. Therefore, effect of heat treatment condition on the recrystallization of repaired region was examined. On the other hand, the creep rupture strength and rupture lives of the repaired region were the alomost identical to ones of the base metal.
