Development of stainless welding wire for Zinc-based alloy coated steel

Abstract

In the case of welding of Zinc coated steel sheets, corrosion resistance of weld parts is deteriorated because the coated part of the weld portion is evaporated during welding. Therefore, stainless welding wire for Zinc-based alloy coated steel is deveroped. Conventional stainless wire causes cracks in teh weld metal due to liquid-metal embrittlement. The newly deveroped wire, which is optimized Ni, Cr components and increased ferritic structure in the weld portion, enables to prevent the cracks.
