We report on the diatom assemblages collected in Hamabun-numa, a lagoon of lake Biwa, in November 2013. A total of 145 taxa, belonging to 39 genera were found there. The taxon which appears with the highest frequency is the genus Gompohmema, followed by Pinnularia, Eunotia and Surirella.
