Abstract
In order to discuss the effect of density stratification on water structure variation in Ise Bay area due to typhoon, the present study conducted a hindcast simulation of water structure variation under the influence of Typhoon 0918 and a numerical experiment with strong density stratification using an air-seawater quality coupled model. As a result, density stratification was recognized to affect the flow and density variation process due to the typhoon. Moreover, the numerical results revealed that hypoxia rapidly disappeared when a strong flow in Ise Bay area was generated by a strong wind during the typhoon passage even in the case of strong stratification which would enhance the grow of hypoxia.
