Rubble mound structures under construction are often damaged in stormy condition because they are not covered with armor units. In this study, a simple countermeasure made of wire net is proposed in order to mitigate deformation of rubble mound seawalls. The deformation of the rubble mound seawalls with and without the countermeasure are measured in hydraulic experiments. The experiment shows that the countermeasure has a good performance for mitigation the deformation. A numerical simulation of estimating the seawall profiles with and without the countermeasure is also conducted. The numerical simulation is composed of CADMAS-SURF for estimating velocity in and around the rubble mound seawall and DEM (Discrete Element Method) for estimating the motion of rubble stones. The numerical model approximately estimated the deformation of the rubble mound seawall.
