This study examines the relationship between the reception situation of tsunami information and tsunami evacuation starting time. To clarify the relationship, we conducted questionnaire survey at the Hashikami area in Kesennuma city, Miyagi prefecture and analyze the reception of tsunami information and evacuation starting time using the data of the survey result. We asked the information sources and contents of the tsunami information by multiple answer and analyzed the trend of evacuation starting time in each combination of tsunami information sources and contents. According to the analysis, we find that the respondents who got tsunami information from local government’s publicity vehicle or got informstion only from radio, evacuated relatively early. Also the majority of people who get tsunami information which broadcasted just after the earthquake, started evacuating immediately however, if they received information which broadcasted more than 10 minute after the earthquake, the residence evacuated relatively late.
