Abstract

It has been reported that the characteristics of future coastal environments, such as sea level, wind wave and surges, will change significantly. Design of the coastal structures is determined based on maximum wave. Future change in wave characteristics is also important for design and maintenance of coastal structures. The management of maintenance consider not only the maximal waves but also distribution shapes of acted wave. In this study, the relationship between the shape of the extreme value distribution and the damage rate of structures was investigated using Monte Carlo Simulation. In addition, future change of the damage rate was investigated due to claimate change.
