Abstract

To estimate a more reliable cargo handling rate in a harbor where vessels sail frequently, ship waves which superpose on harbor waves should be considered. In this paper, the total 19 representative types of ship property and their arrival and departure navigation routes are extracted from the AIS signals which are sent in the harbor region for a year, and then, their ship waves which are simulated by using a Boussinesq model are reflected to the occurrence probability of harbor waves in front of a berth. The cargo handling rate of a mineral bulk vessel with 50,000 DWT, which is estimated considering ship waves generated by the total 8480 ship sailings, decreases by a few percent from the original one.
