Abstract

Future changes in design wave height due to climate change were examined by wave projection using d4PDF. In this study, the computation time in wave projection can be reduced to about 0.1% using the SMB method. The difference between projection and observed wave heights was confirmed, therefore, the bias was corrected separately for the typhoon and the explosive cyclone by the quantile mapping method that matches the probability distribution of the estimated wave height to the observed wave height. It was found that the wave height with a return period of 50 years by future experiments will be 2%-9% higher than the present experiments at the 3 ports in Hokkaido.
