Abstract

Investigation the distribution of iron and aluminium in sea water in Urado Bay, Kochi Pref., Japan, the author examined behaviour of those elements at the “shiome” zone according to the ratio of them.
Iron and aluminium contents in sea water were determined, and the former showed variety from 0.056 to 0.490 mg. per liter, and the latter showed, from 0.052 to 0.388 mg. per liter. Those which were influenced with fresh water and bottom mud, were richer than usual sea water in the iron and aluminium contents.
The ratio of Fe/Al was larger in the “shiome” zone.
