Abstract
Tsuiyama harbour in Hyogo Prefecture is situated at the mouth of the River Maruyama flowing into the Japan Sea. This harbour has been suffered from the drifting sand, as is the case of the estuaries of rivers open on the Japan Sea, but not so remarkably as in the others.
By bathymetrie charts obtained several times hitherto, and by sampling the bottom deposits in the vicinity of this harbour, the author investigates movements of the drifting sands in this region and the effect of the embankments upon these movements. The results will be introduced in this report.
