Abstract
A reasonable treatment of data concerning oxygen and phosbhate has been designed for clarifying distribution and mutual relation. According to this treatment, the ΔO2/ΔP ratio is constant despite of the difference in water mass. The result is different from the formerly reported ones. The concentration of preformed phosphate depends on the water mass. It is higher in the Oyashio water than in the Kuroshio water. A new arrangement in the P-ΔO2 diagram based on the mentioned treatment of oxygen and phosphate data indicates an evidence of oxygen escape from sea water through the surface and a cruising range of the Oyashio water. The primary production rate has been estimated by utilizing the phosphate distribution data.
