Abstract
The relation between the specific gravity and the volume of sea water in the course of concentration is discussed on the data available in the literature, with an introduction of Usiglio's paper (1849) which was erroneously cited in the Bullotin of the National Research Council, 85. A curve showing the relation of volume to density is presented in Fig. 1, which is drawn by using Usiglio's data under the consideration of the results obtained by Posnjak and others.
