Abstract

Combustion of α-Fe2O3 injected at the AH inlet and (α-Fe2O3+Ca(OH)2) injected at the EP inlet
into flue gas of an operating incinerator for municipal solid waste reduced the dioxin concentration in
flue gas to 1/2 and that in fly ash to 1/10. Furthermore, the leaching of Pb could be prevented by ferrite
formation by Fe and Pb on heat treatment of fly ash.
