A new cascade heat pipe which behaves as a thermal diode was developed and characteristics of heat transfer were studied experimentally.
As a result, an efficiency of more than 0.85 was obtained for the thermal diode. Further, in this cascade heat pipe, the existence of a part behaving as an evaporator section or condenser section was confirmed experimentally.
Switching temperature, if a part behaves as an evaporator or condenser, was expressed by a simple equation based on the thermal resistance network model.
