A new method of measuring the particle flux in solid-liquid two-phase flow is presented. A piezoelectric element was held in a solid-liquid flow, and particle flux was measured by counting the frequencies of collision impulses generated by impactions of the particles on the element. This method was used to measure the particle flux in solid-liquid flow through a vertical pipe and its usefulness in practical application was confirmed.
