Abstract

In this paper the author introduces a simple method of computing the diameter, pitch and developed area of propeller according to the formula for optimum diameter: D^2=(143)/N��<(SHP)/(V_3)> which was given by Dr. Taniguchi. The method of computation is explained by a numerical example. For reference to this paper 5 sheets of diagrams representing optimum relation of Unken's series model propellers are added.
