Abstract

The behavior of three models which are moored in the uniform flow is observed, and important elements of the motion and the law of similarity are investigated. The results are summarized as follows ; 1) One of the dominant motions of the bodies is the pendulous motion across the stream, and the other one is longitudinal swing motion which is due to the change of the attitude. 2) For the amplitude of pendulous and pitching motion, and the slope of mooring cord, the Froude's law of similarity would be applied.
