Abstract

Further resistance tests of three models described in the first report are carried out in their half load condition. The result is similar as the one in the full load condition, but it is found that the resistance of the transom stern model T is slightly greater than than the one of the model R in contrary with the former test. However, this does not always mean the general conclusion because these models have primitive and not-faired ship lines. The calculated wave-making resistance has the same order of magnitude as the residual resistance in both conditions and this is a merit to draw ship lines corresponding to the submerged ship type distribution. The last part of the present report discusses with the frame line configuration, especially of the aft-body, in hydrodynamical aspect of view, and shows the method of its theoretical derivation by a simple example applying the slender thin body theory. This way of approach to designing favourable ship lines seems very much fruitfull.
