Abstract

Recently, in conjunction with high speed digital computer, the finite element method of matrix structural analysis has been developed in several field of engineering. this method can be applied to analyze two or three dimensional structure and the stability problems etc. In this method, the structure can be considered as an assemlage of finite elements interconnected at a finite number of nodal points. In order to study the behaviour of assembled structure, it is necessary, first of all, to derive the properties of individual elements. This paper shows the possibility to an analysis of the elastic and plastic stress distribution of flat plate with a hole and presents the results of calculation. In the analysis, the stress-strain relationship in the plastic range is governed by Reuss flow law.
