Abstract

A simple prediction of velocity distribution around a ship stern was carried out by the streamline tracing method in the previous paper, The calculation was made by the use of potential pressure field with displacement effect under the assumption that the fluid is invisid but rotational. Obtained results Showed similar tendencies with experi-mental results. In this paper, instead of the potential pressure field with displacement effect, the calculation is carried out by the use of modified potential pressure field by means of correction for the pressure gradient perpendicular to the hull surface. A little improvement is obtained. The calculation is also made for the initial value calculated by three dimentional boundary layer theory.
